Broad beans paired with bacon is a match made in heaven. The sharpness of the broad beans work really well with the smokey crispy bacon. This is a simple recipe to enjoy with crusty bread and a simple side salad.
Place 175g of podded broad beans into a pan of boiling water for 4-6 minutes. Drain and shock in ice cold water.
Chop 3 rashers of streaky bacon. Sauté in 1tsp of oil until crisp. Add 2 garlic cloves and 1tsp of chilli flakes. Add the broad beans and warm through.
Serve on warm crusty bread with a simple side salad of seasonal leaves.
