The English strawberry season is here and they are starting to make there way onto supermarket shelves and farmers stands. So make the most of them while you can. Here's a simple recipe to help give a creative idea to cakes, desserts and dinner parties or if you just love chocolate and lets face it who doesn't. It is also a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen and into cooking.
In a boiler place in 200g of chocolate I use half milk and half dark chocolate but it is completely up to you. Also add 1/4tsp of vanilla extract and a 1/4tsp of fresh cold coffee. Once the chocolate has melted remove from the heat to avoid catching the chocolate.
Have a sheet of parchment paper ready or silicone mat.
Hold the husk of the strawberry then dip and swirl into the chocolate, repeating the process until all your strawberries have gone the chocolate should cover around 2 punnets. Place on to the parchment and allow to cool at room temperature, never place them in the fridge to cool as this will cause them to sweat and will not set properly. Once they have cooled completely they can be stored in the fridge.
