With Bonfire nights in full swing and celebrations going on up and down the country. Here's a cracking BBQ bean recipe to accompany hot dogs and burgers. Delicious cannellini beans coated in a smokey tomato sauce. Great for dipping or sharing whilst watching Guy Fawkes go up in flames.

Ingredients
400g Tinned Cannellini Beans 400g Tinned Tomatoes 1 Carrot 1 Onion 3tbsp BBQ Sauce 3tbsp Brown Sugar 1tsp Smoked Paprika 1tsp Chilli Flakes 2 Bay Leaves 1 Sprig of Thyme Pinch of Salt & Pepper 800ml of Water
Method
Finely chop the onion and carrot. Sauté in a shallow pan, with 1tbsp of oil the bay leaves and thyme. Add the beans, bbq sauce and spices cook until coated. Pour in the chopped tomatoes, water, salt and pepper then stir to combine. Bring to a boil then simmer for around 1 hour or until the beans have softened. Stir occasionally throughout the hour.
Serve in a bowl topped with cheese and enjoy the fireworks.
